Jingle all the Way!

Is there a better way to spend a Sunday than lining up with 4000 people to the sound of Mariah Carey Christmas tunes for a The Annual Somerville Jingle Bell 5k? I say NO! My friend Allison and I witnessed some serious Christmas spirit, including a guy dressed in a full reindeer costume (really fun to run in, I'm sure), a woman dressed as a Christmas tree (topper, blinking lights, and all!), and many sprinting Santas. We followed up our impressive performance (official results aren't in yet, but by my watch, 27:26 seconds) with a trip to the Burren, a really fun Irish pub at the finish line. We even managed to grab some prime real estate at the bar, and made some fun new friends. Who doesn't top off a healthy run with a couple of locally brewed beers?

To really complete the day, Allison accidentally directed us to the train, headed in the opposite direction of home (oops!), which allowed us to spend some quality time on the T, swinging from the bars in an elegant display of our gymnastic talents.
